If you thought I would have some 4th of July image for this week's assignment, you thought wrong.
We were at a baseball field, on a river, and on the road for the Independence Day holiday weekend. No patriotic flags, no hometown parades, no block party picnic.
So I had to look elsewhere for independence.
And I found it at the baseball field.
Payne says when you bat, it is just you. There is no hiding and there is no help. You are part of a team, and yet, while you are in the batter's box, you are independent of those other 8 players and have to complete your at-bat alone.
We have new faces joining the project this week. Make sure you continue throughout the blog circle to see the regulars and welcome our new girls via the links to the next photographer's site. Next up is Shea of Peepeye Designs.

Great idea! I photograph my daughter's softball games all the time and I know how tricky sports photography can be! Nice job.
