Last week I had a pedicure. I wisely used my confined time to put together a lovely catch-up post. On my phone. It disappeared. Sigh.
Here goes:
We should have started cutting grain the weekend of 4th of July. We should have been finished about two weeks later. We are not finished. We still have 5 or so days of cutting. If it would ever stop raining. Heavier sigh.
Payne has been gone a long time. A very long time. I have not allowed myself to miss him until now. He is at what Odem is calling nerd camp, the Duke TIP summer studies. He has spent 3 weeks at the University of Kansas, delving deep into the mysteries of mathematics and problem-solving. Just a bit more and he comes home.
Jack has been to Tennessee and back, attended basketball camp in Corpus, baseball camp at A&M, and has basketball camp this week.
We abandoned Jon to harvest, and snuck away for a few days to the Frio. Is there anything better than floating in a cool river in the heat of the summer?
You know, this was so much longer on my phone screen.
Since we are not going to be harvesting for a few days, here's another harvest, another time, another crop:
