How many times in one week can a person make the 3 hour trek to Houston? How about how many times in two days can a person make the trek to Houston and back? Did you answer two times?
Ding! Ding! Ding! Right answer.
Next question: Who made that crazy trip two days in a row?
Did you answer Kelly and Payne?
Ding! Ding! Ding! Right answer again.
Wednesday, Payne and Jill had a livestock judging contest at the Houston Livestock Show. We drove up early that morning, and back home late that night.
Early this morning, the boys, 2 girl cousins, 2 aunts, and 2 grandmothers loaded up and headed back to Houston to get culture-fied. Something that is very hard for this mama to accomplish with the little heathens I have been blessed with...but I digress.
We went to the
The Masterpieces of French Painting from The Metropolitan Museum of Art: 1800-1920 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. You may recall that I was there in December, and learned that a study of my most favorite painting in the whole entire universe would be included in this special exhibit from the Met. And the roughness and rudeness and belching must be fought with a little civility and couthness. So a Spring Break trip was in order. Jackson was bored about two rooms from the end. Not too bad. All the kids enjoyed the audio explanations and musical interludes. It helped keep Jackson in the flow. The last day of Spring Break? Sleeping in late, playing with cousins, generally goofing off I suppose. All hell might break loose next Monday, trying to wake my former-ray-of-sunshine in the pitch-black that is now 6:45. Eek! I tremble at the thought, already. |
