Jon made it back from South America (where it was summer), and now we (yes, "we" as in Jon and me, sans the boys) are heading to Washington DC. We are a little late for the inaugural festivities, but I am sure George and Laura will welcome us.
Frozen popsicles we will be. Today, the high in South Texas is 81. The high Friday in the bosom of democracy is scheduled to be a bone-chilling 27. How in the heck am I supposed to be gallivanting about the city while Jon is locked away in warm meeting rooms if I am frozen?
And, I will give you one guess as to what girl got rid of her warm, full-length coat because she hadn't worn it in over a year (I listen to the organizing and wardrobe experts, people!) just last spring? I am going to freeze. Plain and simple.
Things look up as our time there progresses. 39 on Saturday, and 40 Sunday, with Monday being back to 39 and precipitation called for, but just a "wintry mix." I better be able to get back home. Kay-Kay and Bob-bob will be exhausted by then!
Kelly, you and Jon have a great time. Maybe you'll need to buy some warm, winter clothes while you are there! Just a thought.
