The boys are out of school tomorrow. Is it really time for summer to begin?
This week has been the typical onslaught of end-of-school activities - awards assemblies, field trips, play days, etc. combined with Payne's baseball games.
Jack made the A/B Honor Roll this year. I am especially proud he was able to keep up during the time he was out for his two surgeries. His teacher, Ms. Cordo, passed away unexpectedly right before his first surgery in February. It was a tough year all around for him.
Can my years as the elementary mom be over? Why yes! Yes they are.
Jack has come a long way - a couple of years ago, he refused to participate in any program and wouldn't even get up with his entire grade to perform a song or dance. This week? He was Jack in "Jack in the Beanstalk on Trial." On stage. In front of people.
Payne had his 8th Grade Completion Ceremony today. I cannot believe I did not get a picture of him fully decked out. He put on all his medals as he received them, and the pins too. Looked like a proper geek in his bow tie.
He tied with two girls for the History award and received the Student Council award. Plus, he not only had all A's this year, but has had them his entire school career to date along with one other classmate. Pressure is on to continue through high school!
And with that, the bragging will end.
ETA: Payne's friend Brooke *did* get a picture of the entire ensemble. Love girls and their phones!

Way to go, Payne and Jack. We are so proud of each of you and all of your accomplishments!!
