I have registered the boys every spring for school the following year. In the 7 years that Payne has attended public school, there has only been one choice for him (us as parents?) to make. He choose to participate in band this year, rather than keyboarding. (And yes, I could go on and on about how I pushed him hard for the keyboarding. How hard it is for me to watch him and his father hunt and peck at the keyboard. But I won't go on and on and on......)
But it's different when you hit 7th grade. The students have to choose between PE and Athletics. It's a no-brainer which direction this child is taking with that one. They also can choose 2 out of 3 potential electives. Payne is selected Art and Intro to Spanish. He's hanging up his trombone. No more elephant-dying noises emanating from the back bedroom.
I suppose I could take the time for a proper update.
The craziness of the baseball schedule, the busy-ness that was planting, the restlessness that is pervasive as we have waited on the chance of rain. The lack of comforting and healing sleep, the constant hum of the worry. The crunch of the tires on the driveway as we head out yet again for the endless errands, piano practice, baseball game in town, baseball game in Sinton, practice here.
I think I'll keep the update to myself, and just go from here.
